Windsor & Oxford - 1 day

  • Windsor Castle, the largest occupied castle in the world
  • Oxford University, the oldest in the UK
  • Eton College, the school attended by Prince William and Prince Harry

Windsor Castle is an official residence of The Queen. It contains a royal palace with wonderful State Apartments, used for banquets and ceremonies, and a magnificent chapel housing the tombs of ten monarchs of England. Oxford is famous worldwide for its University. Its "dreaming spires" dominate the city skyline. But Oxford has more than just the University; the Ashmolean Museum, Britain's oldest public museum founded in 1683, a vibrant city centre, a fascinating history and plenty of attractions.

Plan for the day
On arrival, your guide will introduce you to the history and beauty of Windsor and its Castle. You will have free time to explore its many attractions. Take a stroll out into Windsor Great Park for great views of the Castle or wander the narrow shopping streets of Windsor town. Alternatively, cross over the River Thames bridge to sample British upper class society at famous Eton College. Afterwards we head for the university city of Oxford. Climb a church tower for wonderful rooftop views, wander the college-lined streets, go punting on the river, relax in the beautiful parkland - soak up the atmosphere of one of the world's great academic cities. Back to Cambridge early evening.
