York is one of England's finest Roman and Medieval cities and visitors are attracted to this fabulous destination all year round. Our tour includes a professionally guided tour with one of York's best local guides, who brings the city's history back to life, covering everything from the Romans and Vikings to York's association with confectionary and chocolate!

In complete contrast, we also visit the windswept rural village of Haworth, which was once home to the famous Brontë sisters and is the place where all their novels were written. In addition, Haworth is a living museum, as it has kept the style of a 1940’s (World War 2) village. You will find delightful tea rooms, serving real Yorkshire Tea and shops that sell products that were available more than 60 years ago. There is also lovely church to explore and if there's a service on during your visit you will hear the music and you can even join in. This village is often the highlight of the weekend for many of our clients, especially those who had no prior knowledge!

We return via one of Britain's most outstanding areas of natural beauty, The Peak District National Park, calling in to the pretty village of Castleton with a large network of underground caves and a small hilltop castle, followed by a visit to the Chatsworth Estate, from where you will get a great view of the majestic stately home.

We also see one of the most photographed parts of the Peak District - Monsal Head, overlooking a beautiful valley called Monsal Dale. On a hot day you can buy a delicious homemade ice cream and enjoy the spectacular views in almost complete tranquility.

Throughout this tour your knowledgeable and friendly driver/guide will keep you informed and entertained. It is worth noting that our driver for this tour has lived in the area for more than 25 years – you literally could not be in better hands.

As with all of our 2 day weekend tours, you will be taken along the back-roads of some of the most rural parts of the country. You will see and experience amazing landscapes, as well as getting a unique perspective on our diverse regional cultures. We strictly limit our capacity to maximum 16 people for this particular tour, as we will travel by our purpose-built luxury minibus, which can travel on roads that larger coaches cannot use.

7.00 am Minibus departs Cambridge from Parkside Fire Station (opposite Parker's Piece) MAP

8.30 am Minibus departs from International Students House, Great Portland Street, London MAP

Early afternoon arrive York and Late afternoon travel to accommodation..

DAY TWO (Sunday):
11.45 am Departure from Haworth.
Evening arrival in Cambridge and London.

Fantastic Accommodation
On this tour we stay in hotel accommodation in Halifax, a short drive from Haworth. All rooms are twin or double bedded with private bathroom and toilet. Single rooms can be requested at a supplement of £30 per single room.
